With so much space, its format was extended to include an interactive construction play area. The grand opening of the new Klockownia is scheduled for 1 June and will include a number of attractions.
Klockownia is opening its largest venue in a new, enhanced format which, in addition to standard zones, also includes new space for children to play builder, plumber, painter, interior designer and electrician. Blocks will remain the main tool to play with, but the centre will also feature a carpentry room with DIY workshops and a zone with heavy construction machines for slightly older children.
Attractions for small and big kids alike
The venue will open on 1 June. The grand opening celebrations will include an event that will kick off at 11 am and will last until 7 pm. It will be held at the car park facing a housing estate, in front of the entrance to the centre, and feature special outdoor attractions. Klockownia will also be accessible on this day.
There will be entertainment for all. The Creative Construction zone will enable children and parents to create their own toys together, with hobby horsing competitions held every full hour. Other attractions to try out will include target throwing and a small obstacle course. In addition, children will be able to build XL structures using large foam blocks in an outdoor zone under the eye of a children’s entertainer.
Tickets will come on sale at reduced prices on this day for those interested in Klockownia’s new format. Discount prices are PLN 25 for two hours of fun and PLN 40 for unlimited time in the play area.
Blending play with education
Even since its inception, Klockownia, which is a member of the Association of Science Centres, has stood out for its modern space and its rich workshop and education offer developed by its Scientific Board. Klockownia, whose staff includes pedagogy graduates, is highly valued by teachers and parents alike for its first-class edutainment experience.
“The lease for space in Pasaż Górczewska marks a milestone in the growth of our network – it is our first Klockownia with an area of more than 1,000 sqm. Our centre is in a prime well-connected location that is easily accessible by metro, bus, tram, and car from the city’s ring road. By offering stairless, barrier- and step-free access, Klockownia is also suitable for children with special needs, so a convenient car park with single-level access to the premises was an important factor in our choice of location. In addition, we have a large parking area for coaches bringing pupils from schools and kindergartens from the whole province. It will be the largest and, I hope, the most interesting edutainment centre in western Warsaw. It will certainly inspire children to engage in active and meaningful offline fun,” says Małgorzata Wieczerzak, the initiator and CEO of Klockownia.
The new Klockownia centre comes as a direct response to the growing demand for places where families could spend time actively and creatively.
“The Górczewska Shopping Centre at ul. Górczewska 218 in Warsaw continues to grow with the addition of a new brand for the youngest. The unique space we are offering will be an additional advantage of the centre in attracting both returning and new customers. As this part of Warsaw is growing at pace, with rising population and many projects breaking ground, such initiatives are extremely important to local communities,” comments Renata Weikert, Senior Consultant, Retail Agency, BNP Paribas Real Estate Poland.
A gaming zone, art workshops and prize competitions
There are more attractions scheduled for this day. The Górczewska Shopping Centre is also organising a “Fantasiastic Children’s Day” at its premises for kids and parents. The event will provide attractions for everyone with a flair for creativity and sports - these will include art workshops, physical activities and games, family games with prizes, face painting and an inflatable obstacle course. They will be available in various locations throughout the shopping centre.
Media Markt will also join the celebrations by creating a gaming zone in its store for console games competitions. The event will be an opportunity not only to compete, but also to test the latest and most popular games.
BNP Paribas Real Estate Poland is responsible for retail space leasing, property management and marketing services for the Shopping Centre in Górczewska Street.
